We identified a recently metamorphosed juvenile of this species from Coos Bay, OR, based on 16S rDNA data. This species is fairly common subtidally in Puget Sound, WA (Greg Jensen, Univ. of Washington, personal communication), but has not been previously reported from Oregon. 

This adult Cerebratulus cf. herculeus var. "latus" was collected subtidally on a night dive in Puget Sound, WA by Dr. Gregory Jensen (University of Washington). Note the relatively broad and short body flattened dorso-ventrally, a tiny caudal cirrus…

Note the relatively broad and short body flattened dorso-ventrally, a tiny caudal cirrus, relatively small head and the conspicuously white margins.
